“aLL STaR Performance is proud to announce their partnership with General Motors for the 2010 SEMA Show and the 2011 season.

aLL STaR Performance, led by Gene Marcel will be designing and building a truly unique 2011 Chevrolet Camaro SS, which will make its debut at the 2011 SEMA Show. Marcel and his team are no strangers to the car customizing world, having started out in South Florida in the late 90′s and now continuing in Southern California. Since 1996, Gene and his team have been involved with a wide variety of automobiles ranging from two high profile Bomex Honda Accords to their latest 2010 project, an Infiniti G37 Coupe. In between those builds, the guys from aLL STaR have also designed, built and toured a tuner style Scion xB, a Euro styled Volvo S40, a VIP themed Infiniti G35, as well as a 2006 and 2009 Honda Fit.

There are plenty of things to get excited about with this build, starting off with the rendering done by the Gurnade Design Firm. Gurnade was in charge of taking a list of ideas from paper and working their magic to transform it into what you see in the rendering.

The aLL STaR Performance crew has joined forces with some of the top automotive players, all of whose products will be incorporated into the final build. Some of these brands include Forgestar Wheels, Baer brakes, Falken Tires, Air Lift Suspension, Extreme Dimensions, Dupont, American Racing Headers, Lysholm Superchargers, Innovate Motorsports, Azentek, Status Racing, STACK, Autometer, Trent’s Trick Upholstrey, MagnaFlow Exhaust Products, Webasto, Ignited HID, Light WurkZ, StreetGlow, Metra, Image Dynamics, TechAFX, S.P.E.C, Royal Purple and Real AutoWorks.

Some of the highlights to the aLL STaR Performance Chevrolet Camaro SS include a set of 22x11” Forgestar wheels, a custom set of Baer brakes, Air Lift
digital suspension, Lysholm supercharger and a custom paint mix thanks to Dupont.

Over the next few months leading up to the SEMA show the entire build will be documented by Marcel and his team. Be sure to keep up to date with progress on the aLL STaR Performance Chevrolet Camaro SS by following the entire build-up on the 2010 SEMA Project Build Ups page on Facebook!”

The Tjin Edition Road Show kicked off its 2010 tour around the country last weekend, and it was Memphis, Tennessee that was to pop the cherry. At the Dub show of course. I really didn’t know what to expect when we arrived, and I’m talking about both Memphis, and the show itself. When we arrived at the airport, we picked up our Chevy HHR that turned from rental car to race car almost instantaneously (just kidding). We quickly learned that Memphis is apparently split into east and west, which is divided by the Mississippi River, thats the same river you counted ten times before you could blitz in tag football remember? So we were all staying in West Memphis, which is actually in Arkansas, just a quick trip over the bridge to downtown Memphis, Tn.

We shacked up in a Super 8 Motel. If you have future plans on staying at one of these fine establishments, make sure to bring a pair of slippers, you don’t want to catch any diseases in the shower. We spent a few days setting up and saying hello to people while exploring the city a bit. Downtown is a bit of a ghost town, lots of potential, but lots of vacant buildings. That is until you reach the areas surrounding the Fed Ex Forum, where the Memphis Grizzlies play. The city was crazy around those parts, but quickly died down as you got further away.

The show was exactly what I had expected. Thousands and thousands of spectators, with nearly 200 cars on display. I spent most of my time near the booth, but made my way around the show to see what kind of spectacles I could set my eyes on. Of all the cars on display, the 1961 Impala stole the show for me, This thing was absolutely beautiful. Neil Tjin had me come up to help with the booth a bit and make sure everything went smoothly, as it did. It was cool to see the Camaro again, I hadn’t seen it since last year SEMA, and the custom rolling chassis was a cool site to see as well, it just wasnt fun pushing it around. The booth also had Camaro posters for sale, one of which featured one of my photos! The Tjin Edition Road Show has over 20 stops scheduled for the year, check them out when they are near to you, punch Neil in the face for me while you are at it.

Check out some coverage from Dub, Sorry for the lack of non-car-show content. I’ll do better next time.

Red Bull, you may recognize the name from their popular energy drink, made an open call to all artists around the world to get creative with their product to be showcased in an exhibition that would tour the country. Their latest stop was right here on South Beach. Red Bull set up a makeshift gallery right on Ocean drive which was free to the public and open for the majority of the day. Apparently this is their ninth stop in the States, but have had galleries all over the world, which makes this stop in Miami pretty convenient. Some of the pieces were truly impressive, cool to see where people’s creativity take them when all the artists started off with the same thing. Check out some of the highlights from the gallery.

New themes are released bi-weekly with “color” as the inaugural guideline. What a simple, yet amazing idea for a site, I’d expect nothing less from Gene. Despite the blatant conflict of interest, one of my photos was selected for the launch, its probably because its the first set of photos, I’m sure after the site gets going my photos will get tossed in the bin with the rest of the bullshit they will receive. Anyway, check it out!

Because I’m in NEEWWW YYOORRKK. But not under the best circumstances, had a family emergency over the weekend and took a last minute flight up here. I’ll be here for the week, so I’m hoping that will mean tons of photos, which so far hasn’t really happened. Went for a stroll in the city yesterday, it was raining and very cold, today is the same deal. I only got to take a few photos, most of our time was spent in the subway, which I found was the most amazing thing in the world when tolls each way over the George Washington bridge are $8.00, then we spent $30.00 to park. I got a week pass for the subway so I’ll be able to jump on an go whereever I want. Here are a few quick snaps of the city from yesterday, I’ll update as the week continues.
